THE SPIRIT OF POPS AWARD

The Spirit of Pops Awards debuted in 2017 as a project to connect alumni with orchestra members in a fun and meaningful way. Executive Director Grace Cravens and the Executive Board nominated individuals whom they felt best embodied the Pops Spirit, and then collaborated with alumni to select the first recipient. On April 2, 2017, Rachel Woods was honored as the inaugural Spirit of Pops Award winner. All nominees are celebrated on this site, and we recognize outstanding Popsicles each year.

2021

The Pandemic greatly affected Pops this season, but the orchestra found a way to continue making music with six small ensembles. Each group nominated a member who best exemplified the Pops Spirit, and we honor all six of these individuals as Spirit of Pops Award Recipients:
